Our Story

In the summer of 2020, we became the 2nd owners of Similk Bay Farm.

It was an early dream of ours to own our own Christmas tree farm one day, and the Lord, in his incredible generosity, said, “Yes!” But it first took 18 years of open handed dreams, trust and surrender.

We got married in 2002, and soon after moved to Washington. Our first tree came from Similk Bay Farm, then owned by a sweet couple who sat in their workshop with the oil heater on, Harry the cat on their lap and homemade snickerdoodles ready to pass out to customers. Time marched on and Bob and Moira, the owners of Similk Bay Farm, got older, and soon, conversations were being had about us managing the farm. Prior to Bob’s passing he asked us to, “Please take care of the place.” So, after almost a decade of being customers on the farm, we became managers of it in 2010. Never would we have thought that 10 years later, during the summer of 2020, we would also become the owners.

We are continuing to learn, fail, grow and be challenged by what it means to be Christmas tree farmers, and even more, stewards of everything the Lord gives us.

When you step onto our farm we hope you’ll find Christmas is more than just a tree. We wish all who visit to experience a life-giving space full of making memories, creating traditions; and being filled with the joy, gratitude, meaning and hope Christmas offers!

Merry Christmas blessings from the Mark and Laurel Bryant family!
